I recently caught this awesome video of Ed Catanzaro speaking at the Chicago Green Business Summit http://www.greenbusinesssummit.org/chicago-business-summit/. Ed has some interesting and innovative technology that his company has developed and is actively working with well known energy providers and Fortune 500 companies in Florida implementing sustainable air conditioning systems for commercial and residential applications, http://greeneryengineered.com.

Ed notes the resistance from the major air conditioning manufacturers in adopting some of his technologies because ultimately it’s not in their best interest to have sustainable and long lasting HVAC equipment. I can understand their concern but for a premium air conditioning product you should be able to charge a premium price which should make up for the sales volume. Another benefit to air conditioning manufacturers would be word of mouth. Once word got out how these new air conditioning technologies were saving millions of dollars I would imagine orders for this new HVAC equipment would definitely go way up.
